Memorize the Bible with Me!

by Dan Horner on January 2, 2012

Welcome to Memorize the Bible with Me!

My name is Dan and I really want to memorize verses in the Bible.  Honestly, I am really not very good at this.   I know John 3:16 but pretty much mess up other verses in the Bible when I try to quote them.

I’m just at the point in life where I want to find a way to put scripture into my mind so that I can use it later to:

  • Know God’s will
  • Find strength in rough times
  • Accurately share what the Bible says with others who have honest questions

Will you join me?

Dan

I just discovered you on iTunes while looking for a chronological audio bible so I could keep up with my church because we are doing the chronological bible in one year program. I finally decided to make my own in a playlist in iTunes and so I was searching for a bible podcast verse by verse and while searching I came across your podcast. I am going to join you in this journey and I am going to subscribe my husband because he has expressed the same desire to memorize scripture.

Hey Gina,

Thank you for joining in! Good luck.

I know this week was a challenge for me personally. It seems like every time I’d replay the Podcast I’d get a phone call and have to pause. Oh well.

It worked out though. I’m finding if I follow along at least two time during the week I’m able to keep what I’ve learned.

Cheers!

Dan

Thanks for this podcast! I was searching for something exactly like this and was thrilled to find it existed. I’m a stay-at-home mom of 2 and this is perfect for keeping my mind/heart occupied while I am doing chores around the house. I am just getting started and am only on week 4, but I plan to keep going. Thanks again!

Britney, So glad to hear this you are joining in. Feel free to work through the verses in any order that works best for you. You can even repeat them from time to time. I know from my experience that once I learn the verse, I think “oh, I’ve got it.” But then a couple months go by and the memory fades. When that happens I just cycle back through. Have fun!
